Welcome to Into the Wardrobe and Beyond, my exploration of the Chronicles of Narnia and other books by C. S. Lewis.

I first started reading Lewis’s books as an undergraduate at Oxford, where he was a lecturer, and continued in Cambridge, where he was a professor. It was also in Cambridge that I had the surprising privilege of teaching a student called Aslan!

I’m now an author, teacher, home educator, and PhD student. For that PhD I have written extensively about That Hideous Strength, one of Lewis’s interplanetary romances, which has only confirmed my love of Lewis’s books. The more I’ve studied his work (and the more children’s fiction I’ve written myself), the more convinced I’ve become of the genius of the Narnia books. Like the Pevensie children before me, I am amazed to have stumbled upon a place more wonderful than I could ever have dared to have imagined.

I am reluctant to reduce the richness of life to a few bald facts and so offer the following misleading precis with great misgiving: I am an author, teacher, and home educator based in South-East England.
